Appointment of the new President of ITERG and IMPROVE

ITERG Governance

During the renewal of the Board of Directors on December 17, 2025, the directors of ITERG appointed Paul Joël Derian as President of the Institute.

A committed member of the Board of Directors since 2019, Paul-Joël Derian previously held the position of Vice-President. He brings solid professional experience to this new role: he is currently Group VP Innovation and Sustainable Development   at Avril, where he has been working for several years to promote innovation and sustainable development.

Paul-Joël Derian succeeds Yves Delaine, who has been president of ITERG since 2019 and whose involvement and commitment have had a lasting impact on the institute's governance and activities. The Board of Directors thanks him for his work throughout his term of office.

Yves Delaine will continue to support ITERG by remaining a member of the Board of Directors as an observer, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of the work undertaken.

IMPROVE Governance

Following the IMPROVE Board of Directors meeting, Paul-Joël Derian was also appointed President of IMPROVE, a subsidiary of ITERG, succeeding Yves Delaine in this role as well.

This dual appointment strengthens governance consistency within the ITERG-IMPROVE Group and is part of a strategic continuity between the two structures.
In a context of increased cooperation, synergies are an essential lever for supporting the transformations underway.
The construction of new buildings on the Canéjan site, with enhanced operational capabilities, is fully in line with this dynamic of development and structuring of activities.
For the coming years, the ambition is clearly reaffirmed: to support the industry in its transformation, promote sustainable innovation, and help shape the future of food and bioproducts, relying on high-performance facilities, committed teams, and solid governance.
