On Monday January 22, 2024, Fabrice BOSQUE, ITERG's Environment & Eco-industries Manager, took part in the Steering Committee for the ECOQUALINA project (ECOconception des produits sous signe de QUALIté de Nouvelle-Aquitaine).

ECOQUALINA has supported 10 New Aquitaine sectors under SIQO (quality and origin identification signs) in an eco-design approach (Agneau du Poitou-Charentes, Agneau du Limousin, Agneau du Périgord, Agneau de lait des Pyrénées, Fromage Ossau-Iraty, Beurre Charentes-Poitou, Jambon de Bayonne, Porc du Sud-Ouest, Pruneau d'Agen, Huîtres Marennes Oléron).

The results of the project were presented at this COPIL meeting.
These sectors now benefit from an assessment of the environmental footprint of their products, and suggestions for improving their environmental performance. This prepares them for the future introduction of environmental labelling for food products.

This project, co-financed by ADEME and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, and coordinated by AANA, involved various partners from the ACTIA ECOVAL RMT (ACTALIA, CRITT Agro-alimentaire La Rochelle, IFIP, INRAE, ITERG) and Agricultural Technical Institutes (CTIFL, IDELE), who provided technical and scientific support to the ODGs (defense and management organizations) for these products.
